AMETSA Becomes 100% Owned by
Allied Mineral Products, Inc.
As of December 31, 2007, Allied Mineral Products, Inc. became full owner
of AMETSA, its refractory sales and manufacturing facility in South
Africa. AMETSA began as a
joint venture in 1998 between Allied and Metallurg South Africa (Pty)
Ltd (now Insimbi (Pty), Ltd.).
An amicable sale of Insimbi’s portion of the company to Allied
was completed December 31.
Operations at the facility will continue uninterrupted.
AMETSA is based in Germiston, near Johannesburg, and began operation in
1998.
It underwent a
building expansion in 2004.
AMETSA manufactures and sells the complete line of Allied’s dry
refractory products and serves South Africa and surrounding countries.
Allied Mineral Products is excited to work with AMETSA to further
develop both domestic and export sales in this exciting area of the
world.
