Flooring
The TUFFLOOR line of products were designed for high temperature flooring applications that are subject to physical impact, thermal cycling, and intermittent exposure to liquid metal or dross.
TUFFLOOR products can be installed as a complete floor, over existing (or new) concrete, or as precast tiles.
Features:
- Easy to install with conventional concrete mixing and finishing equipment.
- Can be “zoned” on top of conventional concrete.
- No special drying required. Can be put into service 24 hours after installation.
- Good thermal shock resistance.
- Cold crushing strength more than double conventional concrete.
- Resistant to hot dross, skim, metal splash and abrasion.
- Assortment of TUFFLOOR products with capabilities of withstanding intermittent temperatures up to 1430˚C (2600˚F).
Benefits include:
- Reduced downtime when repairing floors. Most TUFFLOOR surfaces can handle normal foot and machine traffic within 24 hours after the repair is complete.
- Reduced maintenance time and expense. TUFFLOOR is stronger and faster than conventional concrete. It will not spall when splashed with molten metal, dross, or when in contact with hot metal, shapes, ladles, sows, pigs, slabs, coils, etc. TUFFLOOR is also more resistant to abrasion and mechanical abuse than conventional concrete flooring.
- Safer working surfaces. TUFFLOOR will stay smoother and remain level. This results in fewer tripping hazards, less rolling equipment damage and fewer hot metal spills caused by uneven surfaces.
